Hey, guys! Welcome to my world! Thank you for stopping by! Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Mandy Nicole and I am a 40-something single mom. I was born in Illinois but moved to Georgia when I was 8 years old. Although I was not born here, I still consider myself a proud member of the G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Raised In The South) I chose my blog name for a few reasons. First of all, it is a play on my name. Secondly, I am a lover of so many things that I can’t decide exactly what I want to focus on. I enjoy writing about a little bit of everything, from entertainment and beauty & fashion to food and family.
I went to college for Film/ Video, which has been my first love for as long as I can remember. Atlanta has a booming film industry and I have been lucky enough to work in that realm. My first long term project was on the “incredible” film Van Wilder 3. As bad as the end result was, I loved every minute of it. Aside from working in film, I have also had several jobs in retail which is where I discovered my love for merchandising. Until recently I was on the management team at a big name pharmacy. I loved to flex that merchandising muscle every chance that I got. I spend way too much money on clothing and beauty items.
I waited until I was 30 before I had my son, Jack. He is way too smart for his own good and has always been a little adult. Shockingly, I have never been a teenage boy, so raising him on my own is new territory for me. We are both huge animal lovers and have a princess, I mean cat, named Noel. She is my most favorite subject to take pictures of. I also have a Frenchie, named Einstein, who lives with my boyfriend.
I am an avid watchers of college football (my favorite season of the year), horror movies and bad reality television. I love to cook and bake but also love to discover new restaurants and share my findings. My boyfriend and I have a dedicated Instagram account for this (@atl_food_convo). I enjoy taking pictures, speaking in movie quotes, traveling and being sarcastic. In short, you never know what you are going to get with me!
